Barrister Profile

Ryan read Law at the University of Law, incorporating the College of Law, Chester, obtaining a First-Class Honours Degree. He obtained a Masters and completed his Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law, Leeds. He was called to the Bar in 2020.

Experience:

Since joining Chambers Ryan has frequently appeared in Fast Track trials for both Claimants and Defendants dealing with road traffic accidents and personal injury claims including those with allegations of fraud, LVI, credit hire, and those which involve the Motor Insurers’ Bureau. He frequently advises in conference on both prospects and potential settlement. In addition, Ryan is regularly instructed to attend interim applications, Stage 3 hearings, and housing disrepair claims acting for tenants.

Whilst the majority of instructions that Ryan receives relate to personal injury and/or credit hire litigation, he is developing a commercial law practice.

Prior to practice at the Bar, Ryan was a County Court Advocate for two years across the Northern Circuit successfully representing Claimants and Defendants in a range of hearings:

  • Small Claims hearings
  • Pre-action disclosure applications;
  • Applications for anonymity orders;
  • Summary judgment applications;
  • Mortgage possession proceedings;
  • Landlord and tenant disputes; and
  • Bankruptcy matters.

Ryan is quick to develop a strong rapport with clients and instructing solicitors alike. He is known for his friendly and approachable manner. Ryan is happy to advise informally prior to formal instructions where appropriate.

He is able to turn papers around efficiently.

Outside of the Bar:

Ryan is a keen painter, working mainly with acrylics on canvas. He enjoys going to see live music, when possible, and is an avid rugby league fan.
