David Bennett
David Bennett born 1954. Educated at Liverpool College and Coventry University. Called to the Bar by Middle Temple in November 1977.
Practised at Fruit Exchange Chambers 1978 to 1990 and Chavasse Court Chambers from 1992 to 1999. Joined 42 Castle Street Chambers in September 1999.
Member of the Personal Injury Bar Association. Member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association. Member of the Technology & Construction Court Committee.
Main areas of practise are landlord and tenant law, housing law, with particular emphasis on housing disrepair, anti social behaviour law, personal injury litigation, professional negligence, clinical negligence, actions against the police, nuisance. Has been instructed in numerous group litigation cases, some of which concerned dust/demolition nuisance and one concerned with noxious smells and chemicals, there being over 9,000 claimants.
Regularly lectures and presents seminars on landlord and tenant issues, with an emphasis on those concerning residential landlords.
David Bennett is registered for public access work and is accordingly entitled to receive instructions from members of the public without having to be instructed by a Solicitor.
